About Wicked

“The gravity-defying Wizard of Oz prequel” (Time Out London) is already the 15th longest running show in West End’s theatre history and now in its 12th year at London’s Apollo Victoria Theatre where the “hugely popular show” (The Times) has now been seen by over 8.5 million theatregoers. Around the world, WICKED has now been seen by over 53 million people in 16 countries, and won over 100 major awards.

Based on the acclaimed, best-selling novel by Gregory Maguire that ingeniously re-imagines the stories and characters created by L. Frank Baum in ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz’, WICKED tells the incredible untold story of an unlikely but profound friendship between two sorcery students. Their extraordinary adventures in Oz will ultimately see them fulfil their destinies as Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

What our customer say

It was my wife's birthday treat, a weekend in London with a show. Living in France one of the main things we miss is the theatre, going to see 'Wicked' was a bit special. I myself am not a great fan of musicals but this show blew my socks off, the music was superb, the cast were brilliant, scenery and storyline fantastic. The whole package was absolutely magic, I cannot recommend it highly enough, definitely five stars.

My Husband and I went to the Victoria Apollo to watch this show, unfortunately our seats wasn't the best (sitting right at the back) although we paid £60 for the 2 seats. This is definitely a show you need to be closer to better see the costumes and stages.

In the words of my 17 year old daughter, there is only one way to describe this show; "It was wicked". The set, the costumes and the singing were amazing. Having Matt Willis from Busted play Fiyero was a definite crowd pleaser. Not knowing the storyline, apart from the obvious connections with The Wizard of Oz, was a bonus as everything was new and the connections with The Wizard of Oz brought a welcome smile of realisation. This is not a 'once only' show, we will be booking to see it again before too long.

Critic Reviews

  • Eight years in the West End would tire some musicals, but it's only matured Wicked into one of the country's strongest and most enduringly popular shows. Enlightening, hilarious, heartbreaking and suitably magical – if you haven't seen it yet, do
